This summer, ServiceMagic's employees teamed up with service
professional members for an old fashioned “barn-raising" for the Inner
City School of Denver.
For the past 11 years, the Inner City School has been a safe oasis for
Denver’s inner-city children - aged anywhere from 4 to 10 years old.
Growing up in an economically disadvantaged area, these vulnerable
children have few - if any - of the resources needed to succeed later
in life. ServiceMagic brought the whole community together to help build
a clean and warm environment for these kids.
So far, volunteers have accomplished the following:
Repainted the interior hallway, 3 classrooms and the exterior of the school |
Installed a new back door |
Together with children completed an outside mural |
Restored children's playground area |
Restored working plumbing and installed new flooring in classrooms |
Planted 4 trees and over 60 bushes |
Installed over 8000 sq. ft of sod, weed fabric and mulch and completed a commercial grade sprinkler system with 18 zones |
