DeWalt Reciprocating Saws
DeWalt Reciprocating Saws
18v

Strengths: DeWalt 18v: I had a 110v Dewalt saw and then purchased an 18v saw due to having no power on job sites. Wow !!!! Super product.. I found that I use the saw more now because it is so moble. I am an Irrigation contractor and I use my dewalt everyday. Battery life is better than any other unit I ever tried. I have a spare battery in my truck and also a spare in my shop. Thousands of uses once you get one. Plenty of power..
Weaknesses: Heavy and bulky..
What You Wanted to Know Before You Bought It: How great it was.. I would have bought one earlier!
What Would You Tell the Maker of This Tool: Try to make the unit lighter with more rpm's..

Strengths: Best recip saw I ever had. We do alot of remodeling in older homes ( plaster, metal lath, petrified oak studs/joists, etc..) Before you can make it better you have to tear it out. Some other brands I have bought more recently are in the trash. This one is a 11.9 amp( I think) It gets used and abused more then any other corded tool I have.
Weaknesses: There isn't any. But here are a few things that started happening after 5-6 yrs. 2 years ago the chuck started getting sloppy. About 6-8 months ago it quit working, I threw it in the bed of the truck, grabbed a different one and got back to work. A few weeks later I had some time was cleaning up the truck found the dewalt recip and started messing with it. All it need was a new plug, a wire broke at the plug. My guys have 3 recip,s to choose from, they all want that one. By the way, Dewalts cordless stuff is junk.
What You Wanted to Know Before You Bought It: How good it was so I could of bought 5 of them.
What Would You Tell the Maker of This Tool: Make some blades that can keep up with the saw.
